The General Assembly (GA) is the main deliberative, policymaking and representative organ of the UN. The committee being stipulated is The Disarmament and International Security Committee, the first committee of the General Assembly. The First Committee deals with disarmament, global challenges and threats to peace that affect the international community and seeks out solutions to the challenges in the international security regime. The committee works in close co-operation with the Disarmament Commission and the Geneva Based Conference on Disarmament.
